This stately home is set in magnificent grounds and makes an ideal wedding venue. It is a beautiful location for your wedding photography, with a mixture of open lawns, rose gardens and Mansion House backdrops. There are also wonderful panoramic views over the whole of Bristol and on hot summer's evenings, twilight wedding photography is a must.
The Mansion House is beautifully restored and your function room has all the grandeur of a traditional state wedding room, with high wood panelled ceilings and neutral cream walls. The room has a light and airy feeling to it created by a wall of large sash windows, which let the light flood into the venue. This makes photography of your speeches very easy and natural, at most a little fill flash is all that is required. The Mansion House is tastefully decorated in neutral colours throughout meaning that almost any weddings colour theme will work.
For those couples having a Civil Ceremony at Ashton Court you need to be aware that they use the same function room as your wedding breakfast, so you have to vacate the room whilst they turn it around for your meal. general this is no problem as guests naturally spill out onto the lawn areas or take a walk around the rose gardens. However if you are having more than 70 guests and its raining then it can become a little over cosy in the bar area.
The food is good solid traditional fare. You will undoubtedly get value for money as well as a warm and welcoming service from the staff. Ashton Court does not hold itself out as providing "Nouvelle cuisine" and that's no bad thing. Instead it offers a good selection of hearty food.
We have photographed a number of weddings at Ashton Court and all the couples have been happy with the venue as well as the lovely variety of wedding photography which is possible.
