Amy & David had a beautiful family wedding at Church of St Illtud in Llantwit Major followed by a very relaxed and intimate wedding reception at St Marys Hotel & Country Club Pencoed.
The weather was sadly as bad as it could get on their wedding day, yet that never dampened the joy and happiness which was so evident from their family and friends. In the morning we managed to get a five minute break in the rain, just enough time to get a few great wedding photographs with David and his groomsmen. With many of his military mates around in the morning there was plenty to jokes and David's preparation flew by.
When we arrived at Amy's home for her bridal preparations things could nut be more different. It was like entering a sanctuary of peace. Amy was completely ready and you couldn't help but be blown away by her beauty, charm and elegance. She has a natural poise and instinctive grace which made creating her wedding photographs a work of pleasure. Her choice of an amazing lace edged veil was perfect for powerful, dramatic and intimate wedding photographs. This was one of those times when you wished you had double the amount of time in the morning. Yet no sooner had we arrive and an hour and half later we were off the meet David at the picturesque church of St Illtud in Llantwit Major.
The ceremony was intimate, with very personal readings and the minster drew everyone in to what is the most joyous day for Amy and David. With all the bad weather we were kindly permitted to do all the traditional family portraits in the church. Then it was back to St Mary's Hotel & Country Club Pencoed for welsh cakes and cocktails, what a beautiful idea.
With the rain still hammering down we were able to create some beautifully intimate wedding photography in the Bridal Suite and in the rooms beneath the wedding reception. I am also glad to say that Amy was a great sport and we managed to get some amazing wedding photography in the rain.
Amy and David have a Cherish the Dress Day photography session with us as soon as the military will allow David a few days holiday. This is going to be an amazing session and we will be posting highlights from their Cherish Shoot as well. I also guarantee there will be blue skies on that day. With 515+ images to process from the wedding the rest of the photographs will follow shortly.
