With a massive garden party envisaged over two days the weather for Rachel & Wayne's wedding at the Glan Usk Estate was crucial; the sun shone and it was glorious. Rachel looked magnificent, her dress stunning, her smile infectious. Wayne was incredibly relaxed, the perfect gentleman host and groom. Put all that together and we were assured of some amazing wedding photography.
Wayne and the guys started the day in a very civilised way; trying to shoot clay pigeons out of the sky. Whilst there was lots of gun fire and many, many laughs, we think more clays escaped than were bagged! Yet it started a day that was elegantly informal, traditional and yet avant-garde. Rachel's preparations were very much a family affairs with lots of children and people simply popping in and out, one of the great benefits from having everything and everyone at the wedding venue. Rachel's dress was breathtaking and the simple pearl necklace the final touch of elegance.
The wedding and marriage blessing took place of the picturesque and private church in the grounds of the Glan Usk Estate. Like the whole occasion it was a moment for close family and friends to gather around the couple to celebrate their love for one another. Then it was a delightful wander back through the blue bells and daffodils to the marque in front of the mansion house. The immaculate grounds of the Glan Usk Estate provided unlimited opportunities for great wedding photography and there was a real sense that "spring" was celebrating with Rachel & Wayne.
The party and celebrations went on into the early hours with a fabulous "Rod Stuart" tribute band. As Salvador Dali once said "No one looks back on their life and remembers the nights they got plenty of sleep." Then on Sunday morning it all started again. We came back to capture the fun and joy of a huge family party, with hot air balloon rides and bounce castles for the kid.
This was a wedding Elise and I will never forget and were honoured to have been invited to be Rachel & Wayne's wedding photographers. With over 980+ photographs its going to take us a little longer than usual to prepare these for first viewing, but it will be worth it! So in the meantime here are a few highlights from Rachel & Wayne's wedding day.
